KTR files criminal defamation case against Konda Surekha

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has filed a criminal defamation complaint against Forest Minister Konda Surekha in the Nampally court and demanded criminal action. He had already served her with a legal warning and demanded a public apology for her defamatory statements.

In his petition, KTR stated that Surekha had made false and highly defamatory remarks against him with bad faith motives. He described her comments as part of a calculated attempt to tarnish his public image, citing video footage broadcast on news channels and reports published by several newspapers.

Rao said Surekha repeatedly made deliberate and malicious comments to defame him and gain cheap publicity by spreading sensational news to further her political agenda. He explained that there was neither good faith nor public interest in the statement. “The comments were made with the intent to tarnish his reputation through a conspiracy and malicious intent.”

Rao pointed out that Surekha had already made such baseless comments during the Lok Sabha elections and was reprimanded by the Election Commission for her baseless allegations. He urged the court to consider her repeated statements without any evidence as criminal offenses and take action.
