McBain-Mann reaches settlement in first of two child sexual molestation cases

MISSAUKEE AND OSCEOLA COUNTIES, MI. In January 2024, a Michigan State Police (MSP) Cadillac Post trooper was made aware of another victim in a sexual assault case he was working. The original investigation began in March 2023. The victim in this case said she was sexually assaulted from 2006 to 2010 by Brien Lee Schultz, now 37, of McBain. The last victim said she was sexually assaulted by Schultz from 2010 to 2011. The venues in these cases were in different counties.

Schultz was charged and arrested for the original sexual assault in Osceola County. He was indicted in May 2024 in the 77th District Court in Osceola County on one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct of a person under 13 years of age, one count of child molestation for immoral purposes and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Schultz was charged and arrested for the other sexual assault in Missaukee County. He was indicted in May 2024 in the 84th District Court of Missaukee County on one count of third-degree sexual conduct of a person under the age of 13, one count of child molestation for immoral purposes and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Schultz recently reached a plea agreement in Missaukee County Circuit Court on charges of third-degree sexual conduct against a person under 13 and children-harassment for immoral purposes. His bond was revoked.
