Iranian General Esmail Qaani’s whereabouts unknown amid alleged investigation into Israel’s attack on Hezbollah: report

The whereabouts of an Iranian general are under investigation as he is reportedly under investigation for his role in Israel’s dismantling of the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah.

Brig. General Esmail Qaani, a commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has not been seen in public since Israel killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in a massive airstrike on Beirut in September.

Some Arab media say Qaani is alive and unharmed – but under guard – as the IRGC investigates security lapses into how Israel was able to topple the terror movement’s top leadership and figure out where and when he could be found.

Others, including Sky News Arabic, reported that Qaani was being investigated for alleged ties to Israel. The outlet also reported that the general suffered a heart attack during his interrogation.

Israel has killed several Hezbollah leaders in the past two months.
