Texas City man charged with murder after stabbing his 68-year-old mother multiple times

TEXAS CITY, Texas — A Texas City man is behind bars after admitting to stabbing his mother multiple times, leading to her death Wednesday, according to the Texas City Police Department.

Johnathan Taylor, 30, has been charged with murder in the Oct. 6 death of 68-year-old Regina McIntyre.

Police responded to a Wendy’s on the 2800 block of Palmer Highway where they encountered Taylor around 7:54 p.m.

When Taylor told them he had been robbed, officers noticed multiple stab wounds on both of Taylor’s arms.

While officers spoke with Taylor, he told them that he had attacked his mother at his apartment in the 2900 block of Tarpey Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to check on his mother’s welfare. When officers arrived at the apartment, they saw McIntyre lying on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds.

Texas City EMS arrived on scene to assess her injuries.

Taylor was on the ground and McIntyre was taken by air ambulance to UTMB Galveston.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., McIntyre succumbed to her injuries.

Taylor was charged with murder and his bail was set at $500,000. After receiving medical treatment, Taylor was taken to the Galveston County Jail.
