The Theater Crude Fringe Festival brings unique entertainment to OKC

The annual Theater Crude Fringe Festival is a major event in Oklahoma City and is held each fall in the city’s Paseo Arts District.

According to performer Justin Mayer, the festival features a variety of unconventional and artistic performances not typically seen in mainstream theater venues.

“Usually it’s something out of the ordinary, something more, let’s say, artistic, but always entertaining,” Mayer said. “At a Fringe Festival, whether here or elsewhere, you will see things you won’t see anywhere else.”

Mayer, who is originally from Tulsa but now travels extensively, is bringing his solo clown show “Laugh Lab” to the festival. In the performance, Mayer’s character, a serious “clown doctor” with a doctorate, conducts experiments to test the audience’s sense of humor. “In his seriousness, he has developed a series of experiments that he will test on an audience,” Mayer explained.

The Theater Crude Fringe Festival takes place every fall in the Paseo Arts District in Oklahoma City. Further information about the event can be found here:
