Holly man sentenced to 85 years in prison for child sexual exploitation

DETROIT, Mich. – A Holly man has been sentenced to 85 years in federal prison for sexual exploitation of children, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

In addition to the 85-year sentence, the man was sentenced to 15 years of supervised release upon his eventual release from prison.

In 2020, evidence belonging to 48-year-old Jeremy McCallum was seized from his home, both hard copies and digital files, which the Justice Department said showed McCallum’s years of horrific sexual abuse of three minor children.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Michigan released the following details about the case in a press release:

McCallum abused an underage woman for nearly a decade and documented his abuse on VHS tape, on his cell phone and in Polaroid pictures. He abused another underage woman when she was a toddler and recorded his sexual abuse on VHS tape and on his cell phone. Eventually, an FBI agent located a case of sexual abuse that McCallum had committed against an underage male on a VHS tape.

After years of legal battles, on June 18, 2024, McCallum pleaded guilty to all charges, including ten counts of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of possession of child pornography.

“The despicable acts of sexual exploitation, particularly against children, are among the most horrific crimes our office investigates,” said Cheyvoryea Gibson, FBI Special Agent in Charge in Michigan. “The conviction of Jeremy McCallum is a direct result of the collaboration between the Michigan State Police and the FBI, Oakland County Resident Agency.
