BBC is airing star-studded Australian mystery drama The Tourist

The BBC will broadcast an Australian mystery drama The last anniversary in the UK.

The show, based on the book by Liane Moriarty, stars Nicole Kidman as an executive producer The tourist‘s Danielle Macdonald and A discovery of witches“Teresa Palmer, and follows a woman who inherits a house on an island full of secrets.

The BBC has now confirmed that it has acquired the upcoming show, which is set to air on Binge in its home country.

The last anniversary “is an entertaining drama full of vivid characters, comedy and romance, with a gripping mystery at its heart – I’m sure BBC viewers will thoroughly enjoy their visit to the beautiful Scribbly Gum Island,” said Sue Deeks, Director BBC program acquisition.

The last anniversary is set on Scribbly Gum Island, “a place full of mysteries” – particularly the disappearance of a young couple decades ago, which has made it a hotspot for true crime fans.

“When it comes to secrets, the three generations of women who call Scribbly Gum home have far more,” the synopsis reads.
