A fatal accident in Osage County leaves one person dead and three others injured

A single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries on County Road 807 near address marker 474 in Osage County, Missouri. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 1:10 a.m. on October 9, 2024.

The accident involved a northbound 2007 Jeep Wrangler driven by Nathan L. Timpe, 20, of Centralia, Missouri. The vehicle left the road to the right, overturned and hit three trees. One occupant was thrown from the vehicle.

Sadly, Riley M. Pipes, 19, of Fulton, Missouri, was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. by Osage County Coroner AJ Probst. Pipes was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was transported to Morton Funeral Home.

Other passengers in the vehicle suffered various injuries:

  • Braden M. Halter, 18from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, was seriously injured and flown to University Hospital.
  • Kyle R. Burris, 20of St. Peters, Missouri, sustained minor injuries and declined treatment at the scene.
  • Jacob Stoner, 20of Congerville, Illinois, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Capital Region Medical Center.

The Jeep Wrangler sustained significant damage and was towed by 4J’s Towing.

Officers from the Osage County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene to assist. This is Troop F’s first fatality in October and the 37th of 2024.
