WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Wilkes-Barre City Police responded to a domestic violence incident on West Chestnut Street. The incident occurred on October 8 at 10:38 p.m. and involved a confrontation between two people.

The defendant, identified as 38-year-old Ramel Williams of Wilkes-Barre, was involved in an altercation with a 32-year-old female victim, also of Wilkes-Barre. When they returned home from playing poker, a verbal argument broke out between the two parties. During the argument, the defendant allegedly physically assaulted the victim by throwing her to the ground and repeatedly punching her in the face.

The responding officers noticed visible injuries to the victim, concentrated in the area of ​​the right eye and neck. Based on the victim’s statements and statements at the scene, Ramel Williams was taken into custody. He was then transported to city headquarters where he awaited arraignment.
