Player of the week

Samir Crosby

Greensburg Central Catholic, Jr., QB/DB

The 5-foot-10, 157-pound junior rushed for 150 yards, scored three touchdowns and completed 10 of 16 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns to help the Centurions defeat rival Jeannette. Crosby got the better of his good friend Kymone Brown, who also had a great game.

Players to keep an eye on

Ethan Shawley

Southmoreland, Sr., RB/LB

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound senior has rushed for 320 yards, scored six touchdowns and had four catches for 103 yards and a score. On defense he is a ball hawk. He has 73 tackles, including 28 solo and three quarterback sacks.

Hunter Carr

Ligonier Valley, Sr., TE/LB

According to coach Roger Beitel, the 1.75 meter tall and 100 kilogram senior has a motor that doesn’t stop. He is also one of the hardest workers on the team and very aggressive. He plays both ways and is on every special teams team.

Nick Mendoza

Jeannette, Jr., RB/ILB

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound junior rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown. He also has 25 solo tackles and two quarterback sacks. He has 31 total tackles.
