Teen arrested in fatal stabbing in Sparks, Nevada

Last week a teenager was arrested after a knife attack left one woman dead and another injured.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 3, Sparks police said officers responded to a home in the 1600 block of Chatterley Lane where two women had been stabbed.

Juli A. Cooper, 60, of Sparks, was taken to a hospital where she died the following day from multiple stab wounds, the Washoe County Coroner’s Office said.

The second woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to the Jan Evans Juvenile Justice Center. The suspect is charged with murder, assault and battery, Sparks police said.

No further information was released, including the suspect’s age.
