Google introduces “Pixel Watch fully charged” notification [U]

For some, Google introduced the straightforward “Pixel Watch fully charged” notification back in November. Now there is finally greater availability.

Update 9.10: Google today officially detailed the “100% charging notification” and how it will be enabled by default for all Pixel Watch devices. A nice aspect is that the “notification automatically closes when the watch is removed from the charger”.

With 100% charge notification, you can have your Pixel Watch back on your wrist as quickly as possible for continuous health and activity monitoring.

This “highly requested feature” also “promotes better battery health over time.”

Original 10/7: This is a very simple function. Once “your watch is at 100%,” the Google Pixel Watch companion app will notify you.

It’s unclear why it took so long for this to become generally available, but after a server-side update today, many more people are now seeing the notification.

Other alternatives include checking the Bluetooth Quick Settings (QS) tile or using the Battery widget on Pixel phones.

Incidentally, there was no October update for the Pixel Watch today. The September 14 Android update was pulled due to a bug that caused affected users to have to completely reset their device to fix the issue. Others had no OTA issues, with Android 14 running quite well on the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2.

In the meantime, the October patch will be the first update for the Pixel Watch 3. Expect bug fixes rather than new features.

There was also no update for Pixel phones (or tablets) today. There is a possibility that Google will roll out another security patch for Android 14 before Android 15.
