The results were then compared with a hand count. While accuracy is a hot topic this election season, the department says it conducts these tests before every election.

“We don’t just throw paper through our tabs, cross our fingers and hope for the best. We truly ensure that every vote is counted in a timely and, most importantly, accurate manner,” said Jimmy Flanagan, director of operations for the Denver Election Division.
