City police investigate assault against senior citizen | News, sports, jobs

Dunkirk Police announced today that they are investigating an altercation and assault that occurred last week involving an older adult in his 70s. Officers responded to the incident near East Doughty Street and Franklin Avenue on Oct. 2.

Upon arrival, Dunkirk officers, along with Dunkirk Fire Department and Alstar Ambulance, located the victim, who was subsequently transported to Brooks-TLC Hospital for treatment. The individual has since been transferred to ECMC and sustained injuries, but they do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.

The Dunkirk Police Department is asking the public for assistance. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information regarding it is asked to contact police at 716-366-2266 or the confidential tip line at 716-363-0313.
