Tragic stabbing incident: 20-year-old man dies outside Garba venue in Gandhinagar | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: Devyang Parmara 20-year-old man from Shertha in Gandhinagar, died after being slashed by a group of seven men outside a building garba Venue in Kalol taluka, in the early hours of Wednesday. The attack arose from an argument his 23-year-old brother Vasu got into earlier that night. Vasu was also injured in the attack. Vasu lodged a complaint with the Adalaj police saying he was on his way to a garba venue when he spotted a bump in the road near his destination. As he drove around the bump to avoid it, he was allegedly stopped by a man named Hasmukh Dhavad Kalol. Vasu stated in his FIR that Dhavad used foul language and attacked him and security forces from the Garba ground came to his rescue.
Vasu then attended the Garba and when the event ended, he called Devyang to the venue as he feared another attack from Dhavad. As the brothers were leaving the venue, they were attacked by Dhavad and six others. The six have been identified as Prabhat Solanki, Haresh Parmar, Rahul Solanki, Ayush Solanki, Sameer Solanki and Vivek Solanki. They first targeted Vasu by hitting and attacking him. Devyang intervened and was slashed in the face and neck. The accused fled the scene when he saw him bleeding profusely, claimed Vasu. Friends rushed the brothers to a community health center in Kalol where they were referred to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital. They were rushed to a private hospital where Devyang died during treatment.
The Adalaj police have filed a complaint against the seven accused for murder, attempted murder, intentional bodily harm, intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace, unlawful assembly, riot and members of unlawful assembly.
