According to the military, Russians are gathering strike groups near Robotyne and Pryiutne in southern Ukraine

According to the Ukrainian military, Russian forces are concentrating assault group personnel near the towns of Robotyne and Pryiutne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast in southern Ukraine, potentially preparing for future offensive operations.

Previously, the Ukrainian military reported that Russian troops could soon begin offensive operations towards Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, adding another axis of attack to the ongoing offensives in Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv Oblasts.

Vladyslav Voloshin, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, said in a television broadcast on October 9 that although the large-scale attacks have not yet begun, the Russian military has already stationed attack group personnel in forward positions near these locations, according to Ukrinform.

β€œThe enemy has not yet started these attacks, but I would like to say that he is already concentrating the personnel of these attack groups in forward positionssaid Voloshin.

He added that Russian forces are conducting reconnaissance and search operations to identify Ukrainian firing positions. Voloshin estimated that enemy offensive actions by small infantry groups could begin in about three to five days or within a week.

β€œOur intelligence service has currently not detected any formation of offensive groups. These attack groups are formed from the Russian units and formations operating in this direction, in particular from motorized rifle units and their air assault troopsβ€œ, explained the spokesman.

Voloshin went on to say that in addition to strike groups, the Russian military is building units to consolidate captured positions. He described a tactical approach in which small infantry groups of five to ten people carried out attacks, followed by consolidation groups that held the captured positions.

The overall situation in southern Ukraine remains complex, with enemy fire occurring every day. According to Voloshin, Russian forces carry out at least 200 to 250 artillery strikes daily, as well as missile strikes, airstrikes and drone strikes.
