Kelly Ripa teases Ryan Seacrest about his spelling skills

Kelly Ripa has angered her former colleague Ryan Seacrest after he recently made a mistake in his new job as host of Wheel of Fortune.

The daytime talk show star couldn’t help but tease her former co-host when he appeared on ABC’s “Live with Kelly and Mark” to promote his new children’s book “The Make-Believers”. Meredith Seacrest Leach, on Monday.

When Ripa inquired about his new gig, he playfully asked Seacrest, “Now tell me about ‘Wheel of Fortune.’ Have you learned how to spell?”

Even though the former soap opera actor was joking, others were left wondering about Seacrest’s spelling skills after he made a small mistake while hosting the game show last week.

On Friday, the TV veteran appeared to freeze for a second after a contestant correctly solved one of the evening’s puzzles.

Instead of immediately congratulating the contestant on their successful answer, Seacrest took an awkward pause before co-host Vanna White broke his silence with a light clap.

Kelly Ripa teased her boyfriend and former colleague Ryan Seacrest when he stopped by “Live with Kelly and Mark” with sister Meredith Seacrest Leach on Monday.

At White’s signal, the game show host responded, “Cody? That’s it!”

During his visit to “Live with Kelly and Mark,” Seacrest laughed about the incident and admitted that he “doesn’t text well,” which Ripa said he knew all too well.

“But I’m OK with the puzzles,” he added. “I kind of know where we’re going with the puzzles.”

“Because you have the answer in front of you, right?” Ripa quipped.

The former “American Idol” host shrugged and smiled as he replied, “I mean, either in my head or in front of me. It’s somewhere.”

Seacrest made his “Wheel of Fortune” debut last month after longtime host Pat Sajak retired in June.

After he was first announced as the new host last year, Ripa was eager to tell her friend about his texting skills.

“When Ryan Seacrest texts you, you say to yourself, ‘This person is trying to tell me something,'” she told White while appearing on “Live with Kelly and Mark” last October. “The first thing you realize is that Ryan is trying to tell you something, but often you just don’t know what that is.”
