Paducah man arrested and charged with assault after police investigate shooting

PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) – A Paducah man is in custody after police investigated a shooting that left someone injured.

According to Paducah Police, at approximately 5:50 a.m. Sunday, October 6, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South 22nd Street in reference to a shooting the previous evening.

The victim told officers he was traveling in a vehicle in the area when he was struck by a bullet in his leg. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injury.

During the course of the investigation, investigators identified the suspect as 37-year-old Jeremy K. Kinney of Paducah.

On Tuesday, October 8, investigators located Kinney in the area of ​​the 200 block of Ashbrook Avenue as he entered a vehicle. When investigators attempted to stop the vehicle, Kinney fled on foot and was arrested by officers.

A search warrant was executed in the 200 block of Ashbrook Avenue where marijuana was found at the residence.

Kinney was arrested for first-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree fleeing or evading police and possession of marijuana. He was booked into the McCracken County Jail.
