Name released in fatal crash in Codington County

WATERTOWN, SD (Dakota News Now) – The 79-year-old Florence woman who died as a result of a crash west of Watertown has been identified.

The crash occurred on September 21st.

Beverly Ann Halfaday was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Impala westbound on U.S. Highway 212 and attempted to make a left turn onto 450th Avenue across the divided highway.

The driver of a 1999 Peterbilt was traveling eastbound on US Highway 212 and the vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes.

Halfaday suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

She died of her injuries on October 3rd.

The driver of the Peterbilt was uninjured.
