Man seriously injured in crash in Torrington

TORRINGTON, Conn. (WFSB) – Police in Torrington are currently investigating a serious accident.

On Tuesday at 9:30 p.m., a single vehicle, identified as a gray 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser, was traveling south on Winsted Road.

While driving through a curve, the man behind the wheel lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the guardrail.

When first responders arrived on scene, they located the vehicle in the woods approximately 150 feet from the roadway.

The driver was still behind the wheel; He suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to St Mary’s Hospital.

Police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the collision and said no further information would be released as the investigation is ongoing.
