Don’t be fooled; Hulu & Disney Plus’ new sports drama is secretly a surprisingly funny comedy

Looking at the poster or trailer, you might think so La Máquina would be a boxing drama for fans of the sport. Promotions for the show, which feature its stars as well as some dangling boxing gloves, give no indication that it’s also one of the funniest series to come out so far this year.

Coming Wednesday, October 9th on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus everywhere else. La Máquina is a boxing drama produced by and starring star Wars Actors Diego Luna and Mozart in the jungleIt’s Gael Garcia Bernal. It is a Mexican series and Hulu’s first Spanish-language series.
