Two people were injured in a crash between a box truck and a UTV

Two people were injured in a collision between a UTV and a box truck on Highway 9 around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

According to an Iowa State Patrol accident report, Marleen Burgess, 70, of Cresco, was driving her 2005 Kubo UTV west on Highway 9 when she attempted to make a right turn toward her home. Instead, she turned left to cross the street. A box truck traveling in the same direction attempted to avoid the collision but struck the UTV on the driver’s side, ejecting Burgess.

Both drivers were taken to Howard County Regional Health Services while Burgess was transported in an ambulance.

The incident is being investigated by the Iowa State Patrol.
