A woman was arrested for shooting her husband while vacationing at the beach, authorities said

PENSACOLA, Fla. (KWCH/Gray News) – A Kansas woman was arrested in Florida and accused of shooting her husband.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, 31-year-old Jacqueline King was taken into police custody Tuesday night in connection with the shooting at a Pensacola Beach hotel.

Escambia County officials said they responded to a call at a Fairfield Inn hotel that evening.

They arrived to find King’s husband suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

The sheriff’s office is calling the shooting a domestic incident.

The couple was on vacation at the time of the shooting, the sheriff’s office said.

King was booked into the Escambia County Jail on a charge of attempted murder.

The sheriff’s office is investigating what led to the shooting.
