Two people injured in crash on I-90

Two people were injured when a California man failed to make a turn on Interstate 90 west of Cle Elum just after midnight Sunday morning.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash was reported at 12:10 a.m. Sunday near milepost 54.

The driver was traveling eastbound in a 2007 Kia Optima.

The driver failed to complete a turn and struck a guardrail on the southbound shoulder, then crossed all lanes of the highway and struck the guardrail on the northbound shoulder.

Both the driver and his passenger were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment, and their current condition is unknown.

According to the Washington State Patrol, drugs and alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
