WESTBOROUGH – Row after row of memories – driving along country roads on a Sunday afternoon, hanging out with friends at the local bar and bragging about whose car was the fastest, the tightest in the corners and the loudest on the track.

On Sunday, October 6, nearly 100 antiques and classic automobiles flocked to the parking lot of Arturo’s Ristorante on East Main Street for the second annual exhibit honoring Tony Abu.

Abu, the owner of Abu Construction and a car enthusiast, died of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in October 2022.

Proceeds from admission (a $20 donation for each classic vehicle) go to ALS ONE, a partnership that brings together researchers, clinicians and care providers.

Executive Director Jennifer DiMartino praised organizers Fran Zarette and Dom Fabiano and the near-perfect fall weather for the success of this event.

“We’re so lucky with the weather,” she said. “It was great that everyone came out.”

Visitors to the event – regardless of whether they showed off their vehicles or had the vehicles shown to them – were also happy with the weather.

“We won’t have too many days like this,” said Joan Bace of Natick, who attended the show with her husband, John, and their 1941 Pontiac.

The show featured numerous muscle cars such as Corvettes and TransAms as well as touring and racing cars. There was even a vintage Ford Model T.
