1 person died in crash on SB SR 99 in Tukwila

TUKWILA, Washington – One person was killed in a crash on southbound State Route 99 in Tukwila Monday evening.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident occurred between Des Moines Memorial Drive and Tukwila International Boulevard around 11:30 p.m.

A driver was on SB SR 99 approaching 116th Street when he veered out of his lane and struck another vehicle.

The collision caused both vehicles to roll onto the right shoulder. One vehicle flipped onto its passenger side and the other onto its tires.

In the incident report, WSP stated that drugs and alcohol, as well as speed, were factors in the incident.

WSP and the Incident Response Team kept the road blocked for almost seven hours.
