According to the report, Georgia WR was arrested for assault on an unborn child

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is facing more chaos off the field as a recent report indicates that another Bulldog has been arrested on disturbing charges.

According to Jordan D. Hill of 247 Sports, wide receiver Colbie Young was arrested by Athens-Clarke County police early Tuesday morning on charges of assault and battery on an unborn child. Hill cited jail records showing Young was arrested at 4:18 a.m. Tuesday morning and was still in custody as of 8:30 a.m.

Georgia has yet to address the matter.

Young arrived at Georgia as a transfer this offseason after a career at Miami that included over 900 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns during the 2022-23 season. He has appeared in all five games Georgia has played so far this season.

At this point in the season, Young ranks fourth on the Bulldogs with 11 catches. He is one of five Georgia players with at least 2 touchdown catches and one of six players with at least 100 receiving yards.

To say Georgia is struggling off the field would be an understatement after a string of arrests under Smart, mostly involving driving-related incidents. However, WR Rara Thomas was dismissed from the program earlier this year after she was arrested over the summer for family violence, including a crime against children.

Star running back Trevor Etienne was also arrested this offseason after transferring from Florida, and defensive back Daniel Harris was arrested after the start of the season on multiple driving-related charges, including reckless driving.
