Two were hospitalized after a rear-end collision early Tuesday on I-70 in KCK

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (WIBW) – Two people were hospitalized after a rear-end collision early Tuesday on Interstate 70 in Wyandotte County, officials said.

The crash was reported at 1:39 a.m. Tuesday on I-70 westbound in Kansas City, Kansas. The scene of the accident was on I-70 just west of the 78th Street exit.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2024 Honda four-door vehicle was stopped in the roadway for an unknown reason and was subsequently struck by a 2023 Hyundai Elantra.

After the collision, the Honda came to rest on the side of the road while the Hyundai came to rest in the median.

Both drivers, who were alone in their vehicles, were transported to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, with suspected minor injuries, the patrol said.

The driver of the Honda was identified as Leonardo D’Angelo Richburg, 28, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, while the driver of the Hyundai was identified as Harrison Alexander Boehm, 22, of Shawnee.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, the patrol said.
