Billie Eilish has insisted she will never speak about her sexuality again after feeling forced to come out as queer last year.

The 22-year-old chart-topper spoke to Variety for the first time about her sexuality last year, revealing at the time that she was “physically” attracted to women.

She then said she thought it was “obvious” as she reflected on the world’s reaction to her admission.

However, in a new interview with Vogue, the Ocean Eyes singer expressed regret over her openness, pointing out that the world will learn information about her sexuality or her dating life directly from her.

Billie also said that the level of interest in her personal life was “so unnatural” compared to other people her age.

Billie expressed her frustration at having her sexuality discussed, candidly saying, “I wish no one knew about my sexuality or my dating life.” Always, always, always. And I hope they never do it again.’

Making her point clear, she added, “And I’m never talking about my sexuality again. And I’m never talking about who I’m dating again.”

Billie shared that she had been too open and honest about her life in the past, which occasionally came back to haunt her.

In addition to unintentionally coming out, the star also garnered a lot of attention thanks to her comments about masturbation and her love of the female body during her very candid conversation with Rolling Stone in April.

The star told how she “underestimates” how the things she says are “blown up” in the world’s media.

And while others her age can learn about themselves and their sexuality and make private mistakes without everyone noticing, the same can’t be said of the global superstar.

Billie acknowledged this point, noting that it was “so unnatural” and adding, “We’re all babies.” “We’re all little children growing up and learning ourselves.”

After unwittingly revealing her sexuality, Billie said at the time that she wasn’t really a fan of the concept of coming out, explaining: “I’m just wondering: Why can’t we just exist?”

“I’ve been doing this for a long time and just haven’t talked about it…oops.” I’ve seen all the articles [and] was like, “Oh, I guess I came out today… OK, cool.”

“But it’s exciting for me because I think people didn’t know, so it’s cool that they know. “I’m nervous talking about it… but I’m for the girls.”

While there are some things she prefers to keep quiet about, Billie revealed that she instead wants to use her platform for good and, most importantly, inspire young people in America ahead of “the most important election of our time.”

Billie joked to Vogue that it would be “great” to become the first female president, adding that she would like to “feel safe as a woman in my country,” previously sharing her passion for women’s rights, women’s reproductive rights and social justice Encourage others to register to vote.

She further confessed that she had experienced some “really dark times” while touring in the past, as she lived as if it was “temporary.”

Although she admits that touring is still “kind of unpleasant,” she noted that she wanted to make traveling “more enjoyable” after realizing she had been “lonely for many years” — and Billie was no longer “interested.” in this isolation.

The November 2024 issue of Vogue will be available on newsstands nationwide starting October 22nd.
