At least 15 shots were fired in Charlottesville early Sunday morning

Charlottesville police are investigating reports of multiple shots fired in the Fifeville neighborhood in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Although witnesses reported hearing more than 15 shots in a short period of time, there were no injuries or damage in the immediate aftermath.


Charlottesville police responded to a shot fired around 2:41 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of 7 1/2 Street Southwest and Pine Street, just behind Tonsler Park.

Officers established a crime scene and closed the area to traffic for approximately two hours while they processed evidence.

Authorities have not identified any suspect(s) in the case.
