Patrol arrests Jefferson City man for possession of child pornography

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Drug and Crime Enforcement Division has announced the arrest of Christopher J. Berry, 38, of Jefferson City, Missouri. Berry was arrested for possession of child pornography following an investigation by the Drug and Crime Division’s Special Victims Unit. The State Technical Assistance Team provided assistance during the investigation.

In September 2024, Special Victims Unit investigators identified a device linked to Christopher J. Berry’s Internet account during an online child pornography investigation. Investigators executed a search warrant at Berry’s home in Jefferson City, Missouri. During the search, digital files containing child pornography were found. Berry was subsequently arrested and taken to the Cole County Jail.

The Cole County Prosecutor has formally charged Berry with three counts of possession of child pornography, which is classified as a Class B felony. Berry remains in custody at the Cole County Jail with no bond set.

The Division of Drug and Crime Control urges internet users to report any instances of inappropriate, unwanted or sexualized communication with children to local law enforcement or the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
