Helicopter crash news: 3 dead after evacuation helicopter crashes in Owen County | World News

Three people were killed after a Air Evac Life Team Helicopter collapsed Owen County on Monday evening while he was on his way to pick up a patient, according to WLWT. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) there were three crew members on board at the time of the crash and all died at the scene.
“Air Evac Lifeteam is heartbroken to announce that three crew members from AEL Base 133 lost their lives in a helicopter accident OwentonKentucky today,” the company said in a statement Monday evening.
“Once the investigator is on scene, he will begin documenting the accident scene and examining the aircraft. Part of the investigation will include requesting radar data, weather information, maintenance records and the pilot’s medical records.” The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) “Investigators will consider the human, aircraft and environmental frames of the investigation,” it said in the NTSB statement in part.
The accident occurred around 5:34 p.m. near State Route 22, about two miles north of Owen County High School in Owenton. As WLWT reported, the helicopter was heading to the scene to pick up a patient when the crash occurred.
Kentucky State Police have identified the victims as Gale Alleman, Bethany Aicken and James Welsh, although their ages were not released Monday.
Power outages were reported in Owen County as a result of the incident, Owen Electric Cooperative, Inc. reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are currently investigating Helicopter crash.
NTSB said a preliminary report is expected within 30 days of the crash and an investigator will arrive at the scene on Tuesday.
