The Homer Center reports that threatening graffiti was found in the elementary school’s restroom

Homer-Center District officials and police investigated a theft Monday that was found in some graffiti in an elementary school restroom.

In a letter to district parents, Superintendent Ralph Cecere said the writing on the restroom wall “went beyond childish scrawls and indicated a possible school shooting.” Students saw the graffiti and reported it to district officials. The responsible person(s) were identified and the incident was handled by both the district and law enforcement.

Cecere said parents should talk to their children if necessary and let them know that the school has addressed the situation and parents and children can speak with district administrators. He also thanked the students who pushed the issue forward, as well as the quick work of the district administration and the security service.
