Delaware County native Dave Droxler brings his one-man show “Robin & Me: My Little Spark of Madness” to the Hedgerow Theater in Media, writes Sabrina Boy-Surka for KYW Newsradio.

The show is about Droxler’s childhood and his idol Robin Williams.

The two never met, but Droxler talked about how Williams grew up.

“He felt like a grown-up version of myself,” Droxler said. “When I was younger I was very manic… did a lot of voices, jumped around… an energetic kid.”

Droxler said Williams made him feel like it was OK to live the way he was.

Droxler created the autobiographical play “Robin and Me”, in which Williams appears as the young Droxler’s imaginary friend. The focus of the piece is Droxler’s relationship with his father, who died earlier this year.

The show was performed Off-Broadway in New York and is now at the Hedgerow Theater from October 9th to 27th.

“It’s amazing… being able to come home and tell the stories of where it all happened and then have a lot of the people I talk about on the show there to support me is incredible,” Droxler said.
