Police say pedestrian dies in crash in Beaufort County

BEAFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a pedestrian Monday evening.

The accident occurred about 9:02 p.m. on Trask Parkway, about 13 miles west of Beaufort, said Master Trooper Brandon Bolt.

According to police, a pedestrian walking north on the highway was struck by a 2009 Lexus sedan that was also traveling north.

The pedestrian was killed in the accident. That person’s name has not been released by the coroner’s office. The driver of the limousine was injured and taken to an area hospital.

It was not immediately announced whether charges would be filed.
