Bhupinder Hooda Haryana Election Results 2024: Congress candidate and former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Hooda is currently leading from his Garhi Sampla-Kiloi stronghold seat in Rohtak district, early media trends show. Hooda is likely to reclaim his seat as it was a stronghold and won the assembly elections in 2009, 2014 and 2019.

Hooda contested from Garhi Sampla Kiloi seat against Manju Hooda (BJP), Pravin Guskhani (AAP), Sushila Devi (JJP) and Krishan (INLD).

Bhupinder likely CM candidate

Although there is no official announcement, the veteran Congress leader has been a two-time chief minister and a four-time MP and is seen as the likely CM candidate of the Congress party. The opposition leader in Haryana is a prominent Jat leader in a state where the community plays a major role in determining the election results in about 40 of the 90 seats.

What did the election poll predict for Bhupinder Singh Hooda?

According to a poll by CVoter, Hooda is the leading candidate for Haryana chief minister with 30.8 per cent, followed by Nayab Singh Saini of the BJP with 22.1 per cent. Congress MPs Deepender Singh Hooda and Kumari Selja are third and fourth with 9.5 percent and 4.9 percent respectively. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is supported by just 4.5 percent of respondents.

Meanwhile, political parties and leaders wait with bated breath for the deadline to approach in Haryana. The ruling BJP is confident of retaining power for a third term and the Congress, which has been out of power for a decade, is more than hopeful of making a comeback when results are declared on Tuesday. The main parties in the fray are the BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, INLD-BSP and JJP-Azad Samaj Party. However, in most seats there is likely to be a direct fight between the BJP and the Congress.
