Woman fatally shot by Plano police officers identified

(2023) (Collin County Jail)

Plano police have released the name of the woman killed by officers last week.

The fatal shooting occurred just before 5 p.m. Friday at an apartment complex on 14th Street near E. Plano Parkway

Officers were told that 32-year-old Allison Seitz was behaving erratically and threatening other people with a weapon.

She also reportedly threatened to shoot officers.

Police said officers located Seitz and attempted to negotiate with her to de-escalate the situation.

However, she refused to comply with the request and became “increasingly erratic,” police said.

There is no information yet on how many officers shot Seitz.

The Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy.

The officers involved were placed on leave, which is routine after an officer-involved shooting.

Police said Seitz has a lengthy criminal history that includes charges of abandonment of a child, family violence, assault or threats and interfering with public duties.
