Kolhapur: Two people died and three others were injured on Monday when their car rammed into a truck on the road Nagpur-Ratnagiri National Highway near Chincholi Bypass in Solapur district Sangola.
According to police, the accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. when the five were on their way home Tulja Bhawani Temple in Tuljapur. The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Sangola.
The deceased are Sukhdev Bamne (40) and Nainesh Kore (31), residents of Nandani village in Kolhapur district. Anil Shivanand Kore (42) from Nandani village, Sudhir Chougule (35) from Peth Vadgaon and Suraj Vibhute (21). ) from Kothali village, all from Kolhapur district, are the injured.
A police officer from Sangola police station said, “Five friends had gone to Tulja Bhavani temple on Sunday. As they were returning, their car rammed a 16-wheeler truck on Chincholi bypass. The collision was so violent that two passengers were thrown over.” The driver was trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued by the police.
