Trial begins against man for violent stabbing

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The trial has begun for a man charged with attempted murder in Evansville.

Court records show Remel Byrd had a change of hearing last week but rejected the state’s offer of a settlement.

He is charged with four felonies for stabbing a victim on East Chandler Street.

It happened last December.

According to police, Byrd stabbed a man five times.
