The Jets get good news after Aaron Rodgers’ injury scare

Aaron Rodgers should be “good” and Jets fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

The Jets’ 40-year-old quarterback announced after Sunday’s loss to the Vikings that he has a lower ankle sprain, which head coach Robert Saleh confirmed as a diagnosis on Monday.

“All preliminary statements indicate that he will be fine,” Saleh said.

The Jets have an extra day to prepare for their unlikely first-place duel with the AFC East rival Bills on Monday night at MetLife Stadium.

The game against the Bills in East Rutherford is the same situation in which Rodgers tore his ACL in the 2023 season opener.

Rodgers limped throughout the fourth quarter as he tried to lead the Jets to a 17-point comeback in a 23-17 loss to Minnesota.

“I spoke to him on Sunday evening,” Saleh said. “He’s fine. “Obviously he’s a little banged up, but he’s feeling good.”

Rodgers totaled 25 hits and eight sacks in consecutive losses to the Broncos and Vikings.

Already at the start of Sunday’s game, he was struggling with a knee that was “somewhat swollen” due to “wear and tear.”

Cornerback Michael Carter will undergo further testing for his hamstring injury, Saleh said.
