Lansdale man charged with rape of a child and indecent assault following police investigation

A Lansdale man has been charged with aggravated rape of a child and numerous counts of indecent assault on a child under 13, stemming from incidents that allegedly occurred in 2018 when the victim was five years old.

On Sept. 25, Lansdale police issued an arrest warrant for 25-year-old MD Hossin for the incident that occurred in May 2018 at a home on East Main Street.

According to court records, Hossin was also charged with two felonies: aggravated assault on a child, assault on a person under the age of 13 and contact with a minor for the purpose of sexual offenses, as well as two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault on a person under the age of 13, according to court records.

On July 25, Lansdale police and the Montgomery County Department of Children and Youth Services received a referral regarding an allegation of sexual abuse of a female juvenile victim, police said. In a subsequent interview with investigators, the girl claimed that Hossin sexually abused her multiple times when she was 17, according to charging documents.

On September 3, Hossin was interviewed by police about the alleged incidents. Hossin reportedly said the incident only happened once, rather than the three or four times the victim claimed, according to the complaint. He also told police that the victim could not have “adult feelings” because she was young, according to the affidavit.

Montgomery County detectives administered a lie detector to Hossin, police said, but the results of the test were not included in the probable cause affidavit.

Hossin is free on $100,000 bond and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday before District Judge Edward Levine, according to court records.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled from public court records.
