Man arrested for bottle attack

A Ruston man was arrested Tuesday in Grambling after he allegedly hit a man with a bottle after the two used methamphetamine.

Deontreze Keshard Dade, 29, was arrested by Grambling police on domestic violence charges just after midnight Tuesday morning.

GPD received a call requesting to call officers at an apartment on College Avenue, but due to the caller’s slurred speech, the dispatcher was unable to determine the nature of the problem.

As an officer entered the apartment, he heard a man say “stop” and make numerous rumbling noises. The alleged victim was lying on the ground and bleeding from the back of his head.

Police found Dade sitting on a couch eating a plate of food. The victim said Dade jumped on him and hit him in the head with a bottle. He said they were using meth and using everything, and then Dade “started tripping.”

Grambling Fire and Ruston EMS evaluated the victim, who was then transported to Northern Louisiana Medical Center.

Dade was lodged at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. His bail was set at $10,000.
