Hyderabad police lodge a case against DJ during Bathukamma festival

The Petbasheerabad Police under the Cyberabad Commissionerate have filed a case after DJ music was played without permission during a Bathukamma festival celebration at Chandra Reddy Garden in Kompally on the night of October 4.

According to the complaint from a police officer on duty at Blue Colt, he and another officer discovered the event at around 10 p.m., where loud DJ music was playing. During investigation, the event manager identified as Paryada Karthik admitted that he lacked necessary permissions to play the music.

The police ordered the organizers to stop the DJ music immediately. However, soon after the officers left, the music resumed, prompting the police to file a case against Karthik under Section 223 of the BNS Act for disobedience to the orders of officers. This violation concerns the regulations regarding the use of loudspeakers in public spaces without police authorization.

On the same day, Cyberabad Police issued a press release reiterating that the use of loudspeakers in public areas without permission was prohibited. The note referred to the Hyderabad City Loudspeakers (Regulation of Use and Licensing) Rules, 1963, which makes it mandatory to obtain a valid license for the use of loudspeakers in public or entertainment places.
