Minna Telde had to take a break from the SWB Equestrian Days 2024 after a riding accident

Swedish Olympian Minna Telde will be sidelined for a while after sustaining injuries due to a fall during the medal ceremony at the SWB Equestrian Days 2024 in Flyinge.

At these Swedish Championships for Warmblood Young Horses on Saturday, September 28, 2024, Telde had just won the national title in the 4-year-old division with Quick Dream (by Quaterhit x Benetton Dream).

The dark bay was a little left out on the lap of honor and threw the rider off the field.

“Not my greatest pride,” Telde explained. “A week in the hospital with X-rays, MRIs and examinations is not my thing. A broken vertebra with some complications is the verdict. A loooooong way back in the saddle. This is really hard for me.”

The 49-year-old Telde was a member of the Swedish team at the 2012 Olympic Games in London aboard Santana (by Sandro Hit x Rubinstein). Since then she has competed at international Grand Prix level against Don Charly, Deinhardt, Isac and Praestemarkens Quatero. Most recently she presented the Palomino Zucchero (by Zafferano x Ampere) at the 2024 World Championships for Young Horses in Ermelo.
