Sexually explicit film ‘Daddio’ was played to passengers on Qantas airline’s Sydney-Haneda flight QF59. Airline apologizes for showing adult films on plane

Mumbai, September 7: In a surprise incident on a Qantas flight from Sydney to Haneda, a technical glitch caused the explicit film Daddio to play on all in-flight entertainment screens. The situation became worrying when the raunchy film “Daddio” (2023) was broadcast on flight QF59 without the option to switch off.

“Daddio” is an R-rated film starring Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn that contains explicit sexual content and graphic nudity, as well as scenes with visible genitals. Qantas acknowledged the incident and attributed it to a technical glitch in the in-flight entertainment system that resulted in individual movie selections being disabled. To address the situation, crew members asked passengers for opinions on movie preferences, which ultimately resulted in “Daddio” being played throughout the cabin. “It was impossible to pause, dim or turn off the movie,” one shocked passenger shared on Reddit. They found that it took almost an hour to convert the film into a more suitable film for all ages. They emphasized that the situation is extremely unpleasant for everyone, especially families with children. When it became clear that pausing, dimming or turning off the explicit film was not an option, the airline immediately replaced it with a more family-friendly film. A Qantas spokesman later apologized for the incident and acknowledged it had caused inconvenience to passengers. They explained that it is standard practice for the airline to play family-friendly films when individual film selection is not possible. The spokesperson emphasized their commitment to ensuring a comfortable and appropriate environment for all travelers
