The situation became worrying when the raunchy film “Daddio” (2023) was broadcast on flight QF59 without the option to switch off.

“Daddio” is an R-rated film starring Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn that contains explicit sexual content and graphic nudity, as well as scenes with visible genitals. Qantas acknowledged the incident and attributed it to a technical glitch in the in-flight entertainment system that resulted in individual movie selections being disabled. To address the situation, crew members asked passengers for opinions on movie preferences, which ultimately resulted in “Daddio” being played throughout the cabin.
