7-Eleven raided, workers attacked by large group in Anaheim – NBC Los Angeles

A 7-Eleven was ransacked and a worker was attacked after a large group of people stormed the Anaheim store.

Authorities received simultaneous calls Sunday morning about a street takeover and a robbery in progress at the 7-Eleven at 550 South Knott Avenue.

By the time officers arrived, the cars and the large group of people at the 7-Eleven had already dispersed.

According to the store owner, a group of about 40 people stormed in and stole merchandise and cash from the cash register. It is unclear how much goods and money were stolen.

While the robbery was in progress, several people attacked the 7-Eleven employee as he tried to stop the thieves. The worker suffered a bloody nose as a result of the attack.

Anaheim police are investigating the robbery and assault. There were no arrests.

The city has seen illegal street takeovers in the past, but robberies like this are unusual, said Anaheim Police Officer Matt Stutter.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Anaheim police. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS
