A Washington Parish school board member was found dead in a vehicle, police said

FRANKLINTON, La. (WVUE) – Frankie Lee Crosby Sr., a prominent figure in the Franklinton community, was found dead in his vehicle early Sunday morning (Oct. 6), police said.

Crosby, 67, was discovered at 1424 Parker St. after Franklinton police received a report of a possible death.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of death. Franklinton police, along with the Louisiana State Police crime lab and investigators, are investigating the incident.

Crosby was well known in Franklinton for his service on the Washington Parish School Board. He was also a candidate in the upcoming aldermanic election, a race that had drawn attention in the community.

The investigation is ongoing.
