“Home Show” brings local businesses together

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – The Grand Junction Home Show was held October 4-6 at the Convention Center and brought together local sellers and craftsmen to showcase their offerings.

“We’re really looking to bring in as many local vendors as possible,” said Dan Tye, owner and president of Paradigm Shows.

Paradigm Shows is a traveling convention organizer that showcases all types of businesses in small and larger communities. Tye says this is the first year they are bringing the Home Show to Grand Junction.

A number of companies that improve housing and living spaces were shown, including Habitat for Humanity.

The Food Bank of the Rockies also had a booth where participants could donate canned goods as they walked around.

“We want to support our local charities where we can,” Tye said.

As president, Tye said his favorite part is giving local businesses the opportunity to “meet face-to-face with your actual customer.”

“It’s important to me to offer consulting and advisory services to businesses that wouldn’t normally get an opportunity,” he said.

However, he also said this is a way to bring more community members together who might not otherwise have the opportunity.

“When people come on the show and they have their kids or their family or their parents and grandparents, they go to these other vendors and say, ‘Oh, I remember we go to church together or the kids go to school. ‘ together,” he said. “It’s really just about helping families, helping families.”

This season’s Home Show ended on Sunday, October 6th. However, Tye said he looks forward to bringing more conventions to Grand Junction in early 2025.
