Mount Holly Cemetery in Little Rock comes to life before Halloween.

According to the cemetery’s website, students from the drama department at Parkview Arts & Science Magnet High School in Little Rock work to bring those buried in the cemetery back to life on a Sunday in October.

The annual event is known as “Tales of the Crypt” and will be held for the 27th time in 2024.

These performers research someone buried at Mount Holly and are then expected to deliver short monologues or dialogues highlighting their character’s history and life in period costume, according to an online description of the event.

“Student guides lead the audience through the cemetery, stopping at the graves where student actors are stationed,” the website says.

Usually held on the second Sunday in October, in 2024 it was different and took place on October 6th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m
