Kanpur: Prahlad Singhwho tried it suicide After allegedly killing his wife Shashi by jumping in front of a train over a dispute over the sale of their house at Pipauri village within Gujaini Police Station limits on Wednesday, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Saturday evening. He was found injured near the railway tracks in Panki police station area by the GRP and was subsequently admitted to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital for treatment.
The police took the body to the mortuary and informed the family. Gujaini station officer Vinay Tiwari said that Prahlad Singh killed his wife Shashi by hitting her on the head with an ax while she was sleeping. After the attack, he left the house and walked about four kilometers to reach the train tracks, where he attempted suicide by jumping in front of a train. Police recovered the ax used in the murder from the crime scene. A complaint has been lodged against Prahlad for his wife’s murder based on a complaint from her son Satendra, he said.
